Sub: Inclusion of Office Superintendent Vacancies of Security Department in 20% LDCE Selection Conducted by Personnel Department-Clarification.
Attention is invited to the provisions contained in RBE No. 102/2005, which inter a alia provides that serving ministerial staff of all departments (except Accounts & RPF) possessing the prescribed qualifications shall be eligible to volunteer to appear in the LDCE for the post of Office Superintendent (OS) in Level-6.
2. One of the Zonal Railways has sought clarification on whether the vacancies of Office Superintendent (OS) in Level-6 under the 20% LDCE quota for the Security Department may be included in the selection process conducted by the Personnel Department for OS (Level-6) in other departments.
3. The matter has been considered in consultation with Security Directorate and it is clarified that Personnel Department, in consultation with the Security Department of the Zonal Railways, may simultaneously advertise 20% LDCE quota for OS (Level 6) post in the Ministerial cadre of the RPF. A common examination may be conducted for the 20% LDCE quota applicable to both the Ministerial categories of the RPF and the other Ministerial categories. However, separate merit lists shall be drawn: one for vacancies within the RPF cadre from Ministerial personnel of Security and another for vacancies in non-RPF categories from other ministerial candidates. Ministerial personnel of Security Department will not be eligible for vacancies in the other ministerial categories, and vice versa.
