Expected DA/DR from Jul, 2025 – All-India CPI-IW for the month of Jan, 2025 issued by Labour Bureau on 13.03.2025
The All-India CPI-IW for January 2025 decreased by 0.5 points and stood at 143.2 (one hundred forty-three point two). This change in CPI-IW marks the beginning of the expected DA/DR from July 2025 for Central Government Employees and Pensioners, with a small increase (56.36%) in the first month. The CPI-IW index for the remaining five months will provide the exact figure for DA/DR for July 2025, and the calculation process, along with expectations for the half-yearly increase in DA/DR, has commenced.
The DA/DR from January 2025 has also been confirmed to be 55%, reflecting a 2 percent increase in the existing rate. As per prevailing practice, this increase will be approved by the Cabinet in March 2025 within the next few days. Central Government Employees and Pensioners are eagerly awaiting Cabinet approval and the issuance of the DoE OM in this regard.
जनवरी 2025 के लिए अखिल भारतीय CPI-IW में 0.5 अंक की कमी आई है और यह 143.2 (एक सौ तिरालिस बिंदु दो) पर रूका है। CPI-IW में यह परिवर्तन केंद्रीय सरकारी कर्मचारियों और पेंशनरों के लिए जुलाई 2025 से अपेक्षित DA/DR की शुरुआत को दर्शाता है, जिसमें पहले महीने में एक छोटी वृद्धि (56.36%) शामिल है। शेष पांच महीनों का CPI-IW सूचकांक जुलाई 2025 के लिए DA/DR का सही आंकड़ा प्रदान करेगा, और आधे वार्षिक DA/DR वृद्धि की अपेक्षाओं के साथ गणना प्रक्रिया शुरू हो गई है।
जनवरी 2025 से DA/DR को 55% के रूप में भी पुष्टि की गई है, जो मौजूदा दर में 2 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि को दर्शाता है। प्रचलित प्रथा के अनुसार, इस वृद्धि को मार्च 2025 में अगले कुछ दिनों में मंत्रिमंडल द्वारा मंजूरी दी जाएगी। केंद्रीय सरकारी कर्मचारी और पेंशनर मंत्रिमंडल की मंजूरी और इस संदर्भ में DoE OM के जारी होने की बेसब्री से प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं।

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) – January, 2025
1. Labour Bureau, an attached office of the M/o Labour & Employment, has been compiling Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets spread over 88 industrially important centres in the country. The index for the month of January, 2025 is being released in this press release.
2. The All-India CPI-IW for January, 2025 decreased by 0.5 point and stood at 143.2 (one hundred forty three point two).
3. Year-on-year inflation for the month of January, 2025 stood at 3.10% as compared to 4.59% in January, 2024.

As per latest labour bureau indications, based on AICPI inflation trends, expected DA from 01-07-2025 is to be increased by 3 % i.e., 58% for CG Employees and relief for Retired CG pensioners.
