Subject: Adoption of CCS (implementation of NPS) Rules, 2021, CCS (Pension) Rules, 2021, CCS (Payment of Gratuity under NPS) Rules,2021 and CCS (Extraordinary Pension) Rules,2023
Madam/Sir,
The Central Board of Trustees, EPF in its 236th meeting held on 30.11.2024 vide agenda item no. 11 has approved the adoption of the following Rules:
(i) CCS (Pension) Rules, 2021,
(ii) Adoption of CCS (Implementation of NPS) Rules, 2021,
(iii) CCS (Payment of Gratuity under NPS) Rules,2021 and
(iv) CCS (Extraordinary Pension) Rules, 2023
2. The above Rules shall be deemed to have been made applicable to the officers and employees of EPFO along with such amendments issued under these Rules by the Government of India from time to time with effect from date of their notification by the Government of India. The adoption has been approved with the following modifications: โ
2.1. Provided that in the matter of pensioners of the Central Board, consultation with Union Public Service Commission as provided under first proviso to sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of CCS (Pension) Rules, 2021, before passing final orders, shall not be necessary.
2.2. Provided that in the matter of such retired employees of Central Board, consultation with Union Public Service Commission as provided under first proviso to sub-rule (1) of rule 5 of CCS (Payment of Gratuity under NPS) Rules, 2021, before passing final orders, shall not be necessary.
3. The powers given to the President of India under the above rules shall be exercised by the Chairman, Central Board and the powers given to the Secretaries to the Government of India shall be exercised by the Chairperson of the Executive Committee, Central Board in respect of the Officers and the Employees of the Central Board.
4. This has the approval of Chairman, Central Board.
