Sub: Grant of notional higher Pay Level to Running Staff for the limited purpose of Pass/PTO entitlement.
Ref: (i) Board’s letters No. E(W)2000/PS5-1/10 dated 02.04.2012 & 02.01.2013.
(ii) Board’s letters No. E(W)2016/PS5-1/8 dated 31.01.2019 & 26.07.2019.
(iii) Board’s letter No. 2022/E(W)/01/08/01 dated 28.10.2022.
The matter regarding allotment of notional higher Pay Level to various categories of Running Staff in line with the Rule 2(j)(ii) of Railway Servants (Pass) Rules, 1986 (Second Edition-1993) in 7″ CPC regime corresponding to higher Grade Pay allotted during 6th CPC regime, vide Board’s letters cited under Ref.(i) above, has been under consideration in Board’s Office.
2. In the Board Meeting held on 04.09.2024, Board have agreed to grant notional higher Pay Level to Running Staff only for the limited purpose of Pass/PTO entitlement, as indicated in the Annexure.
3. Since instructions contained in Board’s letters cited under Ref.(ii) above are. effective from the date of implementation of 7th CPC’s recommendations, these instructions shall also take effect from i.e. 01.01.2016.
4. In case of Running Staff, retired/deceased in the interregnum, Post Retirement Complimentary/Widow Pass entitlement may be re-fixed, if beneficial, after allotting notional higher Pay Level.
5. It may be noted that the allotted notional higher Pay Level is only for the limited purpose of Pass/PTO entitlement and not for any other benefit/purpose.
6. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry’ of Railways.
