ADVISORY ON LISTED PROCEDURES, INVESTIGATIONS & IMPLANTS

1. Pl refer to the following letter

(a) CGHS office Memorandum No 12034/02/2014/Misc/-CGHS D. III dt 22 Jul 2014.
(b) ECHS letter No B/49773/AG/ECHS/Rates/Policy dated 06 Aug 2014.
(Cc) ECHS letter No B/49773/AG/ECHS/Rates/Policy dated 12 Jan 2016.

2. It has been observed with concern that Appx A is being raised by Empanelled hospitals for procedures, investigation and implants which are authorized under CGHS as per prescribed ceiling rates. It Is reiterated that for any listed procedure, investigations or implants permitted by CGHS with ceiling rates for any category of treatment there is no need of any permission from SEMO/Spl/Consultant and no Appx A needs to be raised. The cost of implant is reimbursable as per ceiling rates in addition to package rates as per CGHS policy.

3. The BPA will not ask for Appx A for listed procedures for scrutinizing and passing bills. It will be the duty of the validators to be wary of the bills where a listed procedure has been wrongly processed as an unlisted procedure and an Appx A has been raised at a higher cost.

4. This has the approval of MD ECHS.
