Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation at the place of previous posting by Railway officers/staff going on deputation to the State Joint Venture Companies(JVs) set up in partnership with Ministry of Railways.
Ref: Board’s letters No.i) E(G)2007 RN 2-5 dated 13.8.2018 and 11.3.2019;

Attention is invited to Board’s letter of even number dated 17.1.2020 referred to at item (ii) above, allowing retention of a maximum of 02(Two) Railway quarter per State JV for Railway officers proceeding on deputation to State JV Companies set up in partnership with Ministry of Railways. This dispensation was allowed for a period of 03 years counting from the date of expiry of earlier orders on the issue contained in letter dated 13.8.2018 referred to at item (i) above.
2. Now, on consideration of requests received from State JVs and in exercise of the powers vested in it to make reasonable relaxations in public interest for a class/group of employees in all or any of the provisions regarding house allotment/retention, the Full Board have decided that permission granted to Railway officers/staff on deputation to State JVs to retain Railway accommodation under letter of even number dated 17.1.2020; which was available upto 11.8.2022, be extended for a further period of two years in lieu of leased accommodation to be made available by the State JVs to officers of concerned Zonal Railway(s), for all houses retained by State JVs, as per the officer’s choice according to Railway priority list, at the rate of lease entitlement of corresponding grade of officers of concerned JV. Quarter retention permission, however, is not admissible at Delhi as already clarified vide Board’s letters dated 13.8.2018 and 11.3.2019 referred to at item (i) above.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
