Sub: Guidelines for conducting the selection for the post of APP (Level-6) to PP (Level-7) in Prosecution Cadre.
As the Railway administrations are aware, RBE No. 60/2021 inter-alia provides that all officers holding the erstwhile posts of Sub Inspector (Prosecution) in Level 6 on regular basis, not meeting the eligibility criteria for promotion to the next higher grade of Public Prosecutor in Level 7, which is 5 years regular service in Level 6 in the post of Sub Inspector (Prosecution), may be allowed to continue in their present grade till the time the criteria is met.
2. As no specific guidelines exist regarding mode of upgradation from Level 6 to Level 7 in Prosecution Cadre, it has been decided that till all the existing incumbents in L-6 are exhausted, the upgradation from L-6 to L-7 may be done on the basis of seniority cum suitability, on completion of residency period of 5 years in L-6 on regular basis. The existing reservation policy should also be kept in mind.
3. As regards seniority lists, attention is drawn to instructions contained in Board’s letter No. RB/Prosecution Cell/Cdr/0i dated 10.03.2020.
4. This also disposes of CPO(Adm)/ eCoR’s D.O. No.ECoR/Pers/01/Estt. Public Prosecutor/ ECoRly/339 dated 23.11.2020.
