Sub: Filling up of the vacancies in the category of Traffic Assistant in Level-4 in Pay Matrix (7th CPC) in Traffic Department/Metro Railway/Kolkata against 20% Departmental promotion Quota.
Ref: (i) Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/83/PO/506 dated 17.08.1987.
(ii) Metro Railway, Kolkata’s letter No. MRTS/E.327/4/T &C/Promotion/Pt.VI dated 06.10.2021.
Instructions contained in Railway Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/83/PO/506 dated 17.08.1987, provides that 20% of the vacancies in the cadre of Traffic Assistant may be filled by promotion through selection from among Group ‘D’ staff of Metro Railway who are graduates. Consequent to upgradation of the posts of Traffic Assistant from Level-3 to Level-4, the matter regarding mode of filling up and eligibility condition for the same have been considered in consultation with Traffic Directorate.
It has been decided that posts of Traffic Assistants against 20% Departmental promotion quota may be filled by selection from employees of Metro Railway in Level-1 who are graduates and have put in three (3) years regular service.
