National Highways Authority of India (the Term of Office and Other Conditions of Service of Members) (Amendment) Rules, 2020

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd October, 2020
G.S.R. 666 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 34 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the National Highways Authority of India (the Term of Office and Other Conditions of Service of Members) Rules, 2003, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the National Highways Authority of India (the Term of Office and Other Conditions of Service of Members) (Amendment) Rules, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the National Highways Authority of India (the Term of Office and Other Conditions Service of Members) Rules, 2003, in rule 5 for sub rule (2) the following rules shall be substituted, namely:—
(2) “A Member shall hold office for a term of three years from the date on which he enters upon his office and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further term of two years, which may be extended for a further period of two years.”
(3) “No member shall hold office after he attains the age of sixty-four years”.
