NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th January, 2020
S.R.O. 01(E).—Whereas a draft containing certain rules to amend the Cantonments (Payment of Allowances to Vice-President and Elected Members) Rules, 2011 were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 4, vide number S.R.O. 15(E), dated the 31st July, 2018, as required by Section 346 read with section 23 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 (41 of 2006) inviting objections or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of a period of sixty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette containing the said notification was published were made available to the public;
And whereas, the copies of the said Official Gazette were made available to the public on the 31st day of July, 2018;
And whereas, objections or suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft rules have been considered by the Central Government;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 346 read with section 23 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 (41 of 2006), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Cantonments (Payment of Allowances to Vice President & Elected Members) Rules, 2011, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Cantonments [Payment of Allowances to Vice – President and Elected Members (Amendment)] Rules,
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Cantonment (Payment of Allowances to Vice – President and Elected Members) Rules, 2011, in rule 3, –
in sub-rule (1), for the TABLE, the following TABLE shall be substituted, namely:-

after the TABLE so substituted, the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:-
“(1A) The honorarium and allowances provided in these rules shall be reviewed once in every five years.”
