STATUS OF CADRE REVIEW OF BARRACK AND STORES CADRE OF MES
2564. SHRIMATI KAHKASHAN PERWEEN:
Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that the first cadre review of Barrack and Stores cadre of Military Engineer Services (MES) has been approved by Government in December, 2017;
(b) whether it is also a fact that the approved cadre review has not yet been implemented by the department;
(c) if so, the details thereof along with reasons for delay in implementation and probable date by which it will be implemented; and
(d) the details of cadre review of all other cadres of MES with change in cadre strength in each stage?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) & (c): The implementation of cadre review involves distribution of posts, amendments of Recruitment Rules and also obtaining requisite approvals for SAG level post, proposal for which are under process. The amendments to Recruitment Rules and approval for post at SAG level requires consultation with other Ministries / Departments.

(I). Third Cadre Review of Group ‘A’; Civilian Officers of the Military Engineering Service (MES) was carried out in 2013. Overall change in strength is as under:
