Fixation of pay on promotion on or after 1st day of January, 2016.—The fixation of pay in case of promotion from one Level to another in the revised pay structure shall be made in the following manner, namely:-
One increment shall be given in the Level from which the employee is promoted and he shall be placed at a Cell equal to the figure so arrived at in the Level of the post to which promoted and if no such Cell is available in the Level to which promoted, he shall be placed at the next higher Cell in that

My present pay is 74300 as on 01 07 2018 in level 8. I have been granted second macp with effective since 01 01 2010 in next grade pay 4800.Now I have got promotion on 18 12 2018 to post carrying grade pay 6600 in PB 3(PR). What will be benefit in my pay how it to be calculated

I joined on 29.01.2010, I got my first increment on 1.7.2011 after 17 months almost…. Whether the employee promoted on 5-4-2016 and opted on the date of accrual of increment during promotion on 1-7-2016 can opt for Revised pay on 5-4-2016 without changing the earlier option on promotion (i.e., date of accrual of increment)? Please answer.

An employee was granted MACP before 01.01.2016. He gets adhoc promotion in March 2017. He is not eligible for further fixation as he got the same with MACP. Earlier, as per 6th CPC, difference in grade pay was given from the date of such promotion. Now the GRADE PAY is not longer existing in 7th CPC. Then what is the financial benefit to that employee on promotion from March 2017
I GOT MACP IN SEPTEMBER 2013 AND MY GRADE PAY WAS CHANGED FROM 4600 TO 4800. Now under 7th CPC, the post has been upgraded from 4600 to 4800. How my pay will be fixed.

He can opt 7cpc from the date of promotion which is more beneficial and 7 cpc now have no option for refixation. Its 1 January nd 1 July date of increments.

But for you are promoted, your date of increment will be 01/07/2016. Hence you may opt to fix your pay w.e.f 01/07/2016 on officiating pay in the grade pay of Rs. 4200 and in future, when you are regularised your pay may be refixed by the govt. without re-exercising the option. – Knowledged persons may please comment on this view….

In Dec, 2015 I was in Grade-Pay 4600 ( Basic Pay-21340). After being promoted from 1 Jan, 2016 in next grade pay i.e. 4800. My basic pay have set 22180 in old scale. What happens when promotion date and increment date both are same i.e 1st July 2016. Will the employee get two increment and get fixed in next level or he will get only one increment with fixing him in next level and his next increment due on 1st Januray 2017.

No a promoted employee after 1.1.2016 can opt new scales from date of his promotion (01.04.2016) because he will have financial upgradation on promotion. Normal employee without upgradation in between can opt new scales from his date of increment ie.01.07.2016.

As per CCS(RP) Rules, the answer to your query is 'No'
Can You please quote the rule by which, the answer to the above query is 'No', because rule 5. says
"Provided that a Government servant may elect to continue to draw pay in the existing pay structure until the date on which he earns his next or any subsequent increment in the existing pay structure or until he vacates his post
or ceases to draw pay in the existing pay structure: "
Rule 6 Says that the exercise of option can be done within three months of notification. If the date of promotion falls on 31.8.2016 why can't we opt for fixation from 1.9.2016,

Provided further that in cases where a Government servant has been placed in a higher grade pay or scale between 1st day of January, 2016 and the date of notification of these rules on account of promotion or upgradation, the Government servant may elect to switch over to the revised pay structure from the date of such promotion or upgradation, as the case may be.
