NMC Urges PM to Immediately issue 7th Pay Commission Notification
The National Mazdoor conference (NMC) on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to constitute a national commission to assess and formulate policies for revision of wage structure of the working class.
“We urge the Prime Minister to constitute a national wage commission to assess and formulate policies for revision of wage structure in respect of working class throughout the country. The issue has not been revisited for more than past two decades,” NMC president Subash Shastri said.
Shastri said those who are expressing sympathy with the working class had ample chances to ameliorate their suffering during the period they clung to power.
“That is why the need of the hour is the constitution of the wage commission as favorable vibes and expressions are coming from the Prime Minister,” he said.
Shastri asked the central government to immediately issue notification regarding the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission report.
“We are hopeful that the Prime Minister will remove any confusion and ambiguity regarding the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission report,” he said.
Shastri expressed hope that the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir will also take steps to implement the recommendations made in the Seventh Pay Commission for state employees and pensioners.
“We also hope that the state government will regularise the service of 61,000 daily rated workers who have been working in various departments for several years,” Shastri said.
