Employees with Rs. 21000 basic pay to get bonus: Eligibility to get Bonus is likely to increase upto Rs.21,000/- previously it was Rs.10,000 and the ceiling limit of bonus is likely to increase from Rs.3500 to Rs.7,000. Please read this news paper report published in Bhaskar:-

सब कुछ ठीक रहा तो दीपावली पर केंद्र सरकार कर्मचारियों को बढ़े हुए बोनस का तोहफा देगी। सरकार की तैयारी बोनस की राशि बढ़ाने और कर्मचारियों के वेतन की सीमा बढ़ाकर बोनस के दायरे को बढ़ाने की भी है। वर्तमान में मूल वेतन और महंगाई भत्ता जोड़कर 10 हजार रुपए तक प्रति माह वेतन पाने वाले कर्मचारियों को बोनस दिया जाता है। श्रम और रोजगार मंत्रालय की योजना वेतन सीमा को बढ़ाकर 21 हजार रुपए तक प्रति माह करने की है। वहीं 3500 रुपए कम से कम बोनस सीमा को बढ़ाकर 7000 रुपए किए जाने की तैयारी की जा रही है। उक्त प्रावधान पेमेंट ऑफ बोनस एक्ट में संशोधन कर जोड़ा जाएगा। सरकार की इस पहल का फायदा सरकारी और निजी क्षेत्र के कर्मचारियों को मिलेगा। इसके साथ ही सरकार की योजना श्रम कानूनों में सुधार करने की भी है जिसके तहत वर्तमान में कर्मचारियों और कंपनी से संबंधित 45 कानूनों की जगह पांच कानून बनाए जाएंगे। इनमें से मंत्रालय ने इंडस्ट्रियल रिलेशन और लेबर कोड ऑन वेजेस का खाका तैयार कर लिया है। शेष|पेज6 पर 

वर्तमानमें नियमों के मुताबिक किसी फैक्ट्री या संस्थान में 10 से अधिक कर्मचारी होने पर कर्मचारियों को कम से कम 8.33 फीसदी या 3500 रुपए का बोनस दिया जाता है। बोनस के लिए कर्मचारी को कम से कम एक माह कार्य करना आवश्यक है। अगर कंपनी को लाभ होता है तो यह सीमा और बढ़ सकती है। 

उच्च अधिकारी के मुताबिक हमारा फोकस देश में नये रोजगार के सृजन पर है। नये रोजगार के लिए मैन्यूफेक्चरिंग सेक्टर और स्थानीय स्तर पर ही रोजगार मिल पाए इन दो बातों पर अधिक जोर रहेगा। 45 श्रम कानूनों के बजाए अब पांच कानून इंडस्ट्रियल रिलेशन, लेबर कोड ऑन वेजेस, सेफ्टी एंड सिक्योरिटी, सोशल सिक्योरिटी और मिश्रित बना रहे हैं। Dainik Bhaskar

Govt mulls increasing eligibility limit of bonus from 10000 to 21000

Central Government is considering to increase the eligibility limit of bonus from 10000 to 21000.

According to media source, the Central is going to give a green signal to the much awaited decision to raise eligibility limit of bonus from Rs.10000 to 21000. And the calculation ceiling also hike from Rs.3,500 to Rs.7,000

The payment of Bonus (Amendment) ordinance 2007 according to which section 12 of the payment of Bonus Act 1965 had been amended raising the ceiling for calculation purpose from salary of 2500/- P.M. to Rs.3500/-P.M. w.e.f. 01.04.2006. And also amended the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 to raise the eligibility limit for payment of bonus from the salary or wage of Rs. 3500/- per month to Rs. 10000/- per month.

Central Government employees are regularly given Productivity Linked Bonus(PLB). Each department announces its bonus days in the month of September. But, since there was an upper limit, only small amounts were given as bonuses. CG Employees Federations all over the country were demanding that the limits should be raised. – CGStaffPortal
