The 7 CPC view to do away with Pay Band and Gr Pay is really great decision,if implemented. Many pay scales have been merged and put in one PB and GP. There are lot of heart-burn and pleas to upgrade to higher GP by many categories of employees. This is a vicious circle created by 7 CPC. An employee who retired in a particular scale of pay should be given a suitable pay scale in 7 CPC with monetary benefits according to his service in the particular grade perse with fitment to serving employee in the corresponding grade.. His 33 or more years of service is ignored in the PB.The PARITY IN PENSION IS UTMOST IMPORTANT.Few living pensioners are in indigent level as their persion has eroded with 6th CPC implementation arbitrarily.

Facts reported by the paper are not correct. Driver and peon get this salary after service of at least 25 years and which i think is justified after they have devoted such a long time to the government. Moreover, paper should compare the salary drawn by the group b and c officials with salary drawn by mangers of private companies, then only real picture will come out. Furthermore, we should also compare the Infrastructure and housing accommodation provided to government servants. Moreover, salary of a government employee get enhanced after long period of 10 years whereas private companies give appraisals every year. And private companies have created so many of the lower designations live executive, deputy managers even though they are giving them work of only at assistant……so comparing these mangers with group B officials is not justified.
A peculiar point raised by the paper was that railways is not in profit, so demand of good pay by employees is not justifiable…….I totally disagree with that because we all know profit making is not the sole aim of any government sector. Most of the public sector have been formed for social welfare and that profit making is the secondary thing…even though some sectors are not earning profit doesn't mean that their employees are not efficient. Let central govt. employees have ache din (if any possibilty)
