Shortage of Defence Personnel
Details of the shortage of the manpower in the Armed Forces, service-wise are as under:

Government has taken a number of measures to encourage the youth to join the Armed Forces, including conduct of recruitment rallies, media campaign etc. Further, Government has taken various steps to make armed forces jobs attractive for youngsters. These include implementation of the recommendations of the VI Central Pay Commission with improved pay structure, additional family accommodation through Married Accommodation Project (MAP) and improvement in promotion prospects in the Armed Forces.
This information was given by Defence Minister Shri AK Antony in a written reply to Shri Jeetendra Singh Bundela and othersin Lok Sabha today.

the shortage is going to be even more as the clear discrimination of govt wit defence vis a vis civil counterpart are glaring in terms of lower pay, slow promotions, and denial of rightful facilities and hard ships.
look at the cases like NFU, OROP,Promotion structure etc
so shall tou pay so shall tou get.
