(a) whether Government proposes to open a CGHS Dispensary in Shimla District, Himachal Pradesh;
(b) if so, by when and, if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether Government is aware of the fact that Himachal Pradesh is the only State in the country which does not have a CGHS Dispensary; and
(d) the treatment facilities other than Government hospitals being provided to the Central Government employees in Shimla and also to the dependents of the lakhs of inhabitants of this State who are working under the Central Government?
THE MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRI GHULAM NABI AZAD)
(a) to (b): Government is examining the feasibility of opening a CGHS Wellness centre in Shimla.
(c) Central Government Health Scheme is not in operation in 10 states.
(d): Serving Central Government employees residing in areas not covered by CGHS like Himachal Pradesh can avail health benefits under Central Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1944. Central Civil pensioners residing in non-CGHS area have the option to avail CGHS facilities from the nearest CGHS city.
Apart from the above, pensioners residing in non CGHS area can also opt for Fixed Medical Allowance @ Rs. 300 per month instead of OPD treatment.
