ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI R.P.N. SINGH)
(a) & (b): No Madam. There is no such plan to re-employ a large number of personnel retiring from the Armed Forces as well as Central Para-Military Forces comparatively at younger age by way of forming an Auxiliary/Central Force to deal with the natural calamities.
However, National Disaster Response force (NDRF) has been created under section 44 of DM Act 2005 for the purpose of specialist response to a threatening disaster situation or disaster. NDRF personnel are taken on deputation from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) for a period of five years and 20% of the available strength is rotated every year after completion of the prescribed 5 years tenure.
