Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) the year-wise details of the examinations conducted by Railways for permanent appointments in the last five years;
(b) the number of occasions when the results of these examinations did not come on time;
(c) the number of examinations that have been cancelled during the last five years; and
(d) the number of the posts have been abolished by Railways during the last five years and the number of posts for which the process of abolition is ongoing?

(a): The year-wise details of Centralized Employment Notifications (CENs)/ Employment Notifications (ENs) issued by Ministry of Railways for various Group ‘C’ posts (including Level 1 & Security related Posts) and examinations conducted for permanent appointment in the last five years are as under:

(b):The process of examination had got impacted due to COVID-19 related restrictions and resultant lockdowns imposed by various States. However, there is no delay in declaration of results after conducting RRB examinations.
(c): No RRB examination has been cancelled during the last five years.
(d):No post has been abolished by the Ministry. However, there have been surrenders and creations of posts based on manpower requirement. Manpower planning requires continuous review of sanctioned strength in view of changing workload conditions, introduction of new technologies, working systems and creation of new assets etc. This exercise enables Indian Railways to deploy manpower for new organizations and assets, so as to utilize its human resources in most efficient and productive manner.
