Subject: Criteria for determining the candidature of a GDS candidate when examination conducted for multiple recruitment years.

Madany Sir,

References have been received from some Postal Circles wherein clarification has been sought with regard to the criteria for determining the candidature of a GDS candidate who have worked in different Divisions whenever a single examination is conducted for more than one recruitment year.

2 The matter has been examined and it is clarified that whenever single examination is conducted for more than one recruitment year, tho candidature of a candidate shall be decided with reference to the crucial date of eligibility of a particular recruitment year. Accordingly. the Unit/Division where a GDS candidate is/was working on the crucial date of eligibility shall be the Unit/Division for which the candidature shall be considered.

Illustration:

“X” was engaged in Division ‘A’ during the year 2019 but get transferred to Division ‘B’ on 01.12.2020. If a common notification is issued in January 202) for conducting a single examination limited to GDS for appointment to the posts of MTS or Postman/Mail Guard or Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, as the case may be: pertaining to 2019, 2020 and 2021 recruitment years, candidature of ‘X’ will be decided as under:
