No. PF/NFPE/Compassionate Appointment/Covid-19

Dated — 18.09.2020

To

Sub:- Grant of Compensation Rs. Ten Lakh to the family of deceased due to Covid-19 and illegal demand to give undertaking for not demanding recruitment of a ward of deceased on compassionate ground.

Ref:- Dte. No. 100-4/2020-Pen dated 17.04.2020.

Sir,

Vide Directorate order under letter no. as referred above an ex-gratia Rs. Ten lakhs as compensation to the family of deceased employee due to Covid-19 was granted.

But now it has been reported to this Federation that in some circles, the Postal authorities are demanding an undertaking from the family of the deceased employee due to Covid-19, not to claim job or appointment to one ward of the deceased on compassionate ground.

It is quite illegal and injustice to the deceased employee and his family because this compensation is only due to death from covid-19 and this cannot forefeit the other claims and rights of deceased employee and his family.

Also check: Revision of approver limits of proposal and claims in respect of PLI and RPLI : Department of Posts OM Dt. 21.08.2020

It is therefore requested to kindly cause suitable instructions to all concerned in this regard not to demand such undertaking from the family of deceased employee died due to Covid-19.

An early and positive action is highly solicited.

With regards,

Yours sincerely,

(R. N. Parashar)
Secretary General
