Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) – February, 2020

The All-India CPI-IW for February, 2020 decreased by two points and stood at 328 (three hundred and twenty eight). On 1-month percentage change, it went down by (-) 0.61 per cent between January and February, 2020 whereas no change was observed between corresponding months of previous year.

Expected DA from July 2020: CPI (IW) for January, 2020 remained stationary at 330

The maximum downward pressure to the change in current index came from Food group contributing (-) 2.67 percentage points to the total change. At item level, Arhar Dal, Eggs-Hen, Fish Fresh, Poultry Chicken, Onion, Brinjal, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, Cucumber, French Bean, Gourd, Palak, Peas, Potato, Radish, Tomato, Petrol, Toilet Soap, etc. are responsible for the decrease in index. However, this decrease was checked by Rice, Wheat Atta, Goundnut Oil, Goat Meat, Milk-Buffalo, Cooking Gas, etc., putting upward pressure on the index.

Year-on-year inflation based om all-items stood at 6.84 per cent for February, 2020 as compared to 7.49 per cent for the previous month and 6.97 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year. Similarly, Food inflation stood at 8.33 per cent against 10.61 per cent of the previous month and 2.63 per cent during the corresponding month an year ago.

At centre level, Munger-Jamalpur recorded the maximum decrease of 8 points followed by Giridih (7 points) and Tiruchirapally, Tripura and Surat (6 points each). Among others, 5 points decrease was observed in 11 centres, 4 points in 5 centres, 3 points in 18 centres, 2 points in 21 centres and 1 point in 12 centres. On the contrary, Bhavnagar recorded a maximum increase of 4 points. Rest of 5 centres’ indices remained stationary.

The indices of 34 centres are above All-India Index and 44 centres’ indices are below national average.

The next issue of CPI-IW for the month of March, 2020 will be released on Thursday 30″ April, 2020. The same will also be available on the office website www.labourbureaunew. gov. in.

औद्योगिक श्रमिकों के लिए अखिल-भारत उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक – फरवरी, 2020

फरवरी, 2020 का औद्योगिक श्रमिकों के लिए अखिल-भारत . उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक 2 अंक घटकर 328 (तीन सौ अठ्ठाईस) अंकों के स्तर पर रहा। सूचकांक में जनवरी एवं फरवरी, 2020 के बीच 0.61 प्रतिशत की कमी रही जबकि पिछले वर्ष इन्हीं दो महीनों के बीच किसी प्रकार का बदलाव दर्ज नहीं किया गया।

सूचकांक में दर्ज वृद्धि में अधिकतम योगदान खाद्य समूह का रहा जिसने कूल बदलाव को (-) 2.67 बिंदु प्रतिशतता का प्रभाव डाल कम किया। मदों में, अरहर दाल, अण्डा-मुर्गी, ताजी मछली, पोल्द्री चिकन, प्याज, बैंगन, बंद गोभी, गाजर, फूलगोभी, खीरा, फ्रेंच बीन, लौकी, पालक, मटर, आलू, मूली, टमाटर, पेट्रोल, नहाने का साबुन, इत्यादि सूचकांक को घटाने में सहायक रहे। इसके विपरीत, चावल, गेहूँ आटा, मूंगफली तेल, बकरे का मांस, भैंस का दूध, रसोई गैस, इत्यादि ने सूचकांक में दर्ज कमी को नियंत्रित करने का प्रयास किया।

फरवरी, 2020 के लिए मुद्रास्फीति दर पिछले महीने के 7.49 प्रतिशत तथा गत वर्ष के इसी माह के 6.9 प्रतिशत की तुलना में 6.84 प्रतिशत रही। खाद्य-स्फीति दर पिछले माह के 10.61 प्रतिशत एवं एक वर्ष पूर्व इसी माह के 2.63 प्रतिशत की तुलना में 8.33 प्रतिशत रही।

केन्द्र-स्तर पर, मुंगेर-जमालपुर के सूचकांक में अधिकतम 8 अंक की कमी रही जिसके बाद गिरिडीह में 7 अंक तथा तिरूचिरापलली, त्रिपुरा एवम्‌ सूरत प्रत्येक में 6 अंक की कमी पाई गई। अन्य केन्द्रों में 5 अंक, 5 केन्द्रों में 4 अंक, 18 केन्द्रों में 3 अंक, 21 केन्द्रों में 2 अंक एवम्‌ 12 केन्द्रों में | अंक की कमी रही। इसके विपरीत, भावनगर में 4 क्‍ अंक की वृद्धि पाई गई। शेष 5 केन्द्रों के सूचकांक स्थिर रहे।

34 केन्द्रों के सूचकांक अखिल-भारत सूचकांक से ऊपर तथा 44 केन्द्रों के सूचकांक राष्ट्रीय औसत से नीचे रहे।

सी.पी.आई.-आई.डब्ल्यू. की आगामी कड़ी मार्च, 2020 माह के लिए दिन बहस्पतिवार, अप्रैल 30, 2020 को जारी की जाएगी। यह कार्यालय की वेबसाइट www.labourbureaunew.gov.in पर भी उपलब्ध रहेगा।
