Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) — January, 2020

The All-India CPI-IW for January, 2020 remained stationary at 330 (three hundred and thirty). On 1-month ‘percentage change, it showed no change between December, 2019 and January, 2020 when compared with the increase of (+) 1.99 per cent between December, 2018 and January, 2019.

The maximum upward pressure to the change in current index came from Housing group contributing (+) 2.38 percentage points to the total change which was offset by Food group with a negative contribution of 2.15 percentage points to total change. At item level, Rice, Wheat & Wheat Atta, Groundnut Oil, Mustard Oil, Vanaspati Ghee, Fish Fresh, Goat Meat, Dairy Milk, Fresh Milk, Milk Buffalo, Chillies Dry, Coconut, Cooking Gas, Fire Wood, etc. are responsible for the increase in index. However, this was offset by Onion, Arhar Dal, Brinjal, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower, French Bean, Gourd, Green Coriander leaves, Lady Finger, Palak, Peas, Radish, Tomato, Toilet Soap, etc., putting downward pressure on the index.

Year-on-year inflation based on all-items stood at 7.49 per cent for January, 2020 as compared to 9.63 per cent for the previous month and 6.60 per cent during the corresponding month of the previous year. Similarly, Food inflation stood at 10.61 per cent against 12.22 per cent of the previous month and 0.97 per cent during the corresponding month an year ago.

At centre level, Haldia recorded the maximum increase of 34 points followed by Srinagar and Tiruchirapally (9 points each). Among others, 5 points increase was observed in 2 centres, 4 points in 4 centres, 3 points in 7 centres, 2 points in 2 centres and 1 point in 5 centres. On the contrary, Rourkela and Kolkata recorded a maximum decrease of 7 points each followed by Mercara with 6 points fall. Among others, 5 points fall was observed in 2 centres, 4 points in 8 centres, 3 points in 12 centres, 2 points in another 12 centres and 1 point in 6 centres. Rest of 12 centres’ indices remained stationary.

The indices of 35 centres are above All-India Index and 43 centres indices are below national average.

The next issue of CPI-IW for the month of F ebruary, 2020 will be released on Tuesday 31st March, 2020. The same will also be available on the office website www.labourbureaunew.gov. in

औद्योगिक श्रमिकों के लिए अखिल-भारत उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक – जनवरी, 2020

जनवरी, 2020 का औद्योगिक श्रमिकों के लिए अखिल-भारत उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक 330 (तीन सौ तीस) अंकों के स्तर पर स्थिर रहा। सूचकांक में दिसम्बर, 2018 एवं जनवरी, 2019 के बीच दर्ज (+) 1.99 प्रतिशत की तुलना में दिसम्बर, 2019 एवं जनवरी, 2020 के बीच किसी प्रकार का बदलाव दर्ज नहीं किया गया।

सूचकांक में दर्ज वृद्धि में अधिकतम योगदान आवास समूह का रहा जिसने कुल बदलाव को (+) 2.38 बिंदु प्रतिशतता से प्रभावित किया जिसे खाद्य समूह ने (-) 2.15 बिंदु प्रतिशत्ता का प्रभाव डाल कम किया। मदों में, चावल, गेहूँ व गेहूँ आटा, मूंगफली तेल, सरसों तेल, वनस्पति थी, ताजी मछली, बकरे का मांस, डेयरी मिल्क, ताजा दूध, भैंस का दूध, सूखी मिर्च, नारियल, रसोई गैस, जलावन की लकड़ी, इत्यादि सूचकांक को बने मे सहायक रहे। इसके विपरीत, प्याज, अरहर दाल, बैंगन, बंद गोभी, गाजर, फूलगोभी, फेंच् बीन, लौकी, हरा धनिया, भिण्डी, पालक, मटर, मूली, टमाटर, नहाने का साबुन, इत्यादि ने सूचकांक में दर्ज वृद्धि को नियंत्रित करने का प्रयास किया।

जनवरी, 2020 के लिए मुद्रास्फीति दर पिछले महीने के 9.63 प्रतिशत तथा गत वर्ष के इसी माह के 6.60 प्रतिशत की तुलना में 7.49 प्रतिशत रही। खाद्य-स्फीति दर . पिछले  माह के 12.22 प्रतिशत एवं एक वर्ष पूर्व इसी माह के 0.97 प्रतिशत की तुलना में 10.61 प्रतिशत रही

केन्द्र-स्तर पर, हल्दिया के सूचकांक में अधिकतम 34 अंक की वृद्धि रही जिसके बाद श्रीनगर तथा तिरूचिरापल्ली प्रत्येक में 9 अंक की वृद्धि पाई गई। अन्य 2 केन्द्रों में 5 अंक, 4 केन्द्रों में 4 अंक, 7 केन्द्रों में 3 अंक, 2 केन्द्रों में 2 अंक एवम्‌ 5 केन्द्रों में 1 अंक की वृद्धि रही। इसके विपरीत, राउरकेला एवम्‌ कोलकाता प्रत्येक में 7 अंक की कमी रही जिसके बाद मरकारा में 6 अंक की कमी पाई गई। अन्य 2 केन्द्रों में 5 अंक, 8 केन्द्रों में 4 अंक, 12 केन्द्रों में 3 अंक, अन्य 12 केन्द्रों में 2 अंक तथा 6 केन्द्रों में 1 अंक की कमी रही। शेष 12 केन्द्रों के सूचकांक स्थिर रहे।

35 केन्द्रों के सूचकांक अखिल-भारत सूचकांक से ऊपर तथा 43 केन्द्रों के सूचकांक राष्दीय औसत से नीचे रहे।

सी.पी.आई.-आई.डब्ल्यू. की आगामी कड़ी फरवरी, 2020 माह के लिए दिन मंगलवार, मार्च 31, 2020 को जारी की जाएगी। यह कार्यालय की वेबसाइट labourbureaunew.gov.in पर भी उपलब्ध रहेगा।
